El Fenix Famous Mexican Restaurant in Mesquite

Had a wonderful experience at this El Fenix! Food was awesome! Norma is the sweetest and really made a great impression!

One of the BEST El Fenix locations to dine at. Their guacamole is a meal unto itself. Enchiladas are made w toppings to your taste. The staff is wonderful and the manager is ALWAYS there talking to diners.

The service was excellent food was hot and the drink just say Jose I can't see 🤷🏽‍♀️

the girl on the phone made me feel rushed.she mumbled a lot and seemed to be distracted by something else. she also got an attitude with me I told her I wanted the largest queso. she says they don't come in sizes they only have half a quart in a quart and I said will take the largest lol. she also added an extra meal to my order which I had to wait to have removed and sort out upon pickup taking an extra 15 minutes. -.- not fun.

We went here yesterday for my birthday. I had received a coupon for 2 free appetizers, and our waiter also brought me a free Strawberry Paradise Sopapilla! I have been eating at El Fenix for more than 65 years and it has always been my favorite place for chips and salsa and the enchilada dinners.

It was delicious. Family friendly atmosphere. I am definitely going to eat there again

Marisol was a great waiter she gave me and my family excellent customer service. She served us our items in a timely manner and made sure we had everything we needed until the food came out. I would give her an extra star if possible.

Been going to this location for decades. Staff is always great. They are taking precautions for COVID and we could tell. Customer service still 10/10 for all the staff and managers! Great job y’all!

This is literally my favorite restaurant! Norma always makes sure we have what we need and we are always well taken care of!

We got seated quickly. The server was friendly. The food tasted great. We did have to wait long for our food either. I'd recommend this this place.

Ordered some cheese Enchiladas for lunch. They were cold. Had basically NO cheese. The edges of the tortillas were even hard as if they were over microwaved and extremely dried. (I didn’t know El Fenix Microwaved their customers food) I could have had a better meal for half the price at Mc Donald’s. It would have been fresher, tastier, and half the price. What’s the point of paying $20 for something not eatable. Wasted my money, 100%.

This past Sunday, July 27, we visited and had a gentleman right by the rail when you first walk in, Francisco ( that may not be right at all). He was absolutely fantastic. He came to the table quickly to get drinks, everything we said he mentally remembered and brought them back each time. He was friendly, and the food was great as usual. We will def be back.

We were sat at a table in a small alcove area off to the side of the main dining area at a table that was not set up. Not sure why, they had other tables available in the main dining room, the lack luster attitude of the host might have had something to do with it. We did get luck and one of the managers waited on us, the food was good as always, which saved the overall experience.

We had the Brisket taco plate and the street taco plate. Both dishes were delicious. The server Jennifer was attentive, quick and was very helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant and upbeat. The manager came by our table and asked if all was good. Staff was friendly and professional. We will be back.

Norma was a great server and gave us wonderful service! She was very attentive and friendly and we had a great dining experience.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Their homemade chips are some of the best I've had. Highly recommend the Fajita Steak Burrito and the Spicy Brisket Enchiladas. If you want dessert, try a slide of the Lemon Ice Box Pie

Waited 20 minutes then went to pick up food. They didnt even know we had ordered online. Had to wait 20 more minutes. However the food was great!

Really light crispy chips and the salsa would be good as a beverage!

The food was very good. I asked for a recommendation from our waitress letting her know that I can't eat anything spicy. I am so bad that the mild sauce at Taco Bell is as spicy as I can handle. Lol. I absolutely loved what she recommended! Fresh chicken tacos with rice and veggies. Those turned out to be zucchini and yellow squash with a cheese that reminded me of Feta cheese. My friend got the steak fajitas. They lost a star because after our food was brought out our waitress went on break and whoever was supposed to watch our table did not bother to do so. The manager came out to check on the room and he finished up our service.

Been going most my life. Waiting for Covid-19 to subside so we can have Celebration of Life for my father there. ❤

All of the times I have been here, I’ve never had an issue with anything. Service is great, food is wonderful, and the margaritas are strong! Love this location and I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!Also, a shoutout to Jenifer for being an awesome waitress two times! Once on Valentine’s Day and the other today! I love that management is visible and always looking out for their customers when it gets busy! Always appreciated!

Great food and super nice wait staff

Great to see an El Fenix packed on a Sunday afternoon. Eventhough the Sunday brunch looked fantastic, I opted for the new Fiesta Burrito (beef) & it did not disappoint! Seriously, the vibe I got eating at this El Fenix took me back to my childhood memories of having to get put on a list for the first time yet not having to wait all that long. Did remind me of the old NW hwy & Preston location a bit

Ugh, the place had an awful smell...it was coming from the kitchen. everytime a staff would go in and out it would just fill the room. couldnt get out of there fast enough..

The last time I order from the Mesquite location the hot sauce was all water.. It's the frist time I have received bad anything fron El Fenix... My favorite is the beef enchiladas.. Tamales are very good as well.

Been eating El Fenix since 1970. Best chips and salsa. Soft Pralines are scrumptious. I recommend beef enchillada and a tamale with rice and beans. Tortillas are always hot.

I liked it and the server that we had was really nice his name was poblulo and yeah it was really generous

Been going to this place for over 47 years and unfortunately I have to say that this is the only time that I've had a subpar meal tostada was not crispy Taco soggy the cheese enchiladas subpar I'm hoping that's just an effect from Covid,so we will be back to retry it that right now it did not work for me
